Hahaha….not what you think. It is the first time in several days I've been able to get on Opera and it has nothing to do with my being a caretaker of a little munchkin during the week. It is mainly due to pc problems. I believe it is the wireless network. Wish I still had my secure, high speed connection like I had in Phoenix. I almost don't want to try to get on the pc anymore because it takes a full minute or more for anything to come on the screen. Or, I guess I should say, upload? Whatever I click on it 'hangs' for over a minute. That's when it DOES finally download to what I'm wanting. Very frustrating and depressing so I just don't go to the pc hardly ever.
Thank you dW for your return email. I read it over a week ago, then the pc kept going off line and I couldn't answer you.
It was hot and humid here in Fargo the last couple of months. Almost felt like home….except for those darn mosquitoes and the tornado sirens. The sirens went off three times July 4 evening. We could see the huge thunderhead clouds coming closer and the lightening. We were on the deck watching some of the fireworks the first time the sirens went off. We gathered all the dogs and ourselves and went down into the basement. What was funny, sort of, is that we could still hear people letting off the fireworks. Must have been the locals who don't bother with sirens.
Now it's been a nice, breezy 75 on average. That I don't mind at all because it is cool enough to keep the swarms of mosquitoes away. But one or two will still get to you somehow.
Mia is growing like a weed. She is so much fun. At 17 months, would you believe, she is driving! LOL!
There are more photos I'd love to show you but I'm still unable to get my new printer/scanner to work. I have a feeling I must have Windows 7. Soooooo, I think I'll give the new printer to my daughter who gave it to me and just take their old one. An old printer will go better with an old pc I think. If I don't get it to work, I think I'll start having all my photos put on a disc rather than printed out. That way I can at least get them in my photo folder.
Here's another of when her parents took her to the Fargo Zoo while I was in Chicago in June.
Now here is what I was treated to for my birthday in June. My daughters bought me a ticket to Chicago. Suzy and her boyfriend took me to his lake home. Very beautiful and relaxing.
p.s. The only way I have the above photos is that I'm getting them from my daughters' FB pages. I'll do my best to get back here to respond. Just not sure how the pc will be.

STILL have not made them yet. Bought one more can to make sure there is enough for leftovers for lunches to take to work. On the weekends, I don't cook. They barbecue almost every weekend like madmen because in another month, there will be snow. Right now there's lots of beef, 10 burgers and one steak left, and 8 polish sausages. I happened to get chicken and turkey polish sausages, however, it is all processed meat and I try to stay away from that too. Glad I keep a few fish Lean Cuisines handy.

I don't believe it's that. I just installed a new anti virus and it should be working. It's just the very slow, wireless, unsecured network I'm on. Too many people using it at once. Just like old times with dial up. There's nothing I can do about it as I don't have the money to pay for my own secure line. There are four computers here. Mine probably gets used the most. They each have a laptop, then their home pc. Originally posted by Weatherlawyer:
Hmmmmmm….never thought of that. Only thing I do is delete temp files every couple of days to combat some of the slowness. My ex said to to a ……something, can't think of the word….where everything is put back into place. He does it every week. However, I read where that's not a good idea. Plus my pc says I don't need to do that when I ask it to "evaluate". There are just way too many suggestions as to what to do. I'm just going to not complain about it anymore and live with it.
Speaking of opera, is anyone having to log in often? At least once a week I have to. I'm finding it a bit strange because I never log off. It's almost like somebody else is reading my stuff…messages, etc. then logging off. The pc is being a bit squirrelly so I'll give it a rest. Gotta check on Mia anyway.
I think it may log off automaticly after awhile, but…, I'm not sure. :insane:

Opera is setting up its servers for its new version of its mail plan. (Worth looking at that if you want a respectable sounding email server with your own name on it.)It uses a lot of memory so it may be getting bumped by using a heavy ap at the same time. You don't need system restore until you have a total wipe out. If you have an unsecure wireless (WiFi) then it is pretty certain you are getting drive bys, look up wardriving. So it's no surprise you are getting moofed. You need to get the admin to set a password. I can't believe you have an unsecure network. Well it will save you bothering with Linux if you find it's that.*******How are you these days Tom?Heading south, or is Arizona warm in the winter?

That may be true. Someone else said that too. Maybe when it's been 24 hrs since my last activity? Makes sense I suppose. Originally posted by Weatherlawyer:
I am absolutely certain it is unsecured. I mentioned this to them and they don't care because they have nothing to hide. Well, I don't either. It's just the principle of the thing. And speaking of drive bys, there were lots of those in Phoenix. My neighborhood was getting a little 'iffy', break ins and such so, in that respect, I'm glad I'm out of it. Soon, very soon. Have to steal a few from my daughter's FB page. I have three rolls of film taken in the last couple of months of Mia, the Red River, the Blue Angels, etc. At $9 per roll, I cannot afford to get them developed right now. I wish at my age things would be a little easier financially but, except for achy joints, I at least have my health and am able to see and take care of Mia.
