A Simple Fix, Home Projects and a Painting

My browser is now officially Opera. When I uploaded it, the browser was giving me the same problems as in December with my photos and all avatars being gone. All I did for this simple fix was click on 'view', then 'images' then 'show images'. One of those  moments.
Do you ever feel like flying off on your private jet? I certainly do. No, this isn't mine but I thought it quite pretty and it was parked at the Sedona Airport I visited a few weeks back.

One of the things that has been keeping me busy is going through the thousands of old and new photos and organizing them. Ocassionally, I come across one that is so cute I have to share. This was taken in 1952. I was 4 and my sister, Sharon, was 7 and we were playing with some souvenirs our parents had brought back from Mexico.

Other activities keeping me busy are home projects. The first photo one is where I had already taken up the old carpet, then was breaking up the old black linoleum tile. The old tile was made of asbestos back then but I didn't start using the mask and gloves till I was half way finished.

This next photo is what I have been painstakingly doing for the last month….scraping off the asphalt glue from the concrete floors. The blade on the long handled scraper (leaning against the wall in the photo above) was very dull so I resorted to using this small box cutter and changing blades often. It is now half done. The area I'm doing this on is about 12 foot by 12 foot.

One of my side jobs is painting things for extra money. One thing I'm working on presently is a small playhouse. I first primed it with white, then painted it all with a sage green. Next I will paint flowers in pots on the sides and front.

Last but not least is a watercolor painting I did several years ago:

Underwater Blues
22 x 30
Watercolor on Arches Cold Press

About pam

I am retired from real 9 to 5 jobs. I do my artwork and occasionally write poetry. In September 2010, I moved to Fargo, ND after spending 60 years in Phoenix, Arizona. Now, five years later, July 2015, I'm back in Arizona. And yes, I love the heat!
